Buckinghamshire CC has put forward plans to cut its councillors from, 57 to 49 from the elections in 2013.

The council – the first county to go public about cuts to members – announced its plans last week, following news that the Local Government Boundary Commission for England had launched a consultation to make it easier for councils to streamline their councillors (see The MJ, 18 November).
