Reed moves to speed up London's housebuilding

The housing secretary has written to the capital’s council leaders outlining plans to fast-track planning permissions and boost housebuilding in the city.

The housing secretary has written to the capital's council leaders outlining plans to fast-track planning permissions and boost housebuilding in the city.

In a joint letter with Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan, Steve Reed told borough leaders that developers would now be able to secure permission without a viability assessment where they commit to providing at least 20 per cent of the homes as social and affordable housing.
