Reform UK has pledged to prioritise areas with Green-controlled councils for illegal immigration detention centres if it wins the next elections.

Announcing the policy ahead of this week's local elections, the party's home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf said: ‘Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won't have a detention centre near you. If you vote Green, there's a good chance you will.'
