Laura Hughes asks what Reform UK’s local elections success will mean for local government reorganisation and how easy it will be for Labour to continue its programme of overhauling local government.

Reform UK has captured county councils in Derbyshire, Durham, Kent, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, North and West Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire, as well as Doncaster City Council in this month's local elections.

Throw into the mix Greater Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire combined authorities, and it is clear the party now has a foothold in UK politics.
