After the Reformquake

The local election results could 'bring a different complexion' to reorganisation debates, writes Ian Miller.

This month's elections are a good demonstration of how district and county councils work effectively together.

Districts will have done the heavy lifting on organising and running the elections. In Worcestershire that included all processes including declaration of the results, although I am aware of at least one county council that takes over after verification and counts the votes.
