Regional government needs a rethink rather than a political knockabout, according to a thinktank. The LGIU urged political parties to assess whether sub-national governance is working. Andy Sawford, LGIU chief executive said: ‘We must end this stale political knockabout. The debate on regional government has become all too predictable.'
