Reorganisation proposals average 544,000 population

Reorganisation proposals submitted by English councils would produce new unitaries of significantly varying sizes but with an average population of 544,837, analysis by the Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) has shown.

Reorganisation proposals submitted by English councils would produce new unitaries of significantly varying sizes but with an average population of 544,837, analysis by the Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) has shown.

The LGIU study is based on the range of proposals submitted last month by two-tier regions facing reorganisation.
