Reorganisation repercussions

Following the latest round of local government reorganisation last week, ministers claim the new unitaries will boost growth and strengthen our cities but not everyone agrees. The tough work of getting the right people in the right roles is still to come. Paul Marinko reports.

For anyone who thought the latest change of Prime Minister may slow the Government's race to reorganise two-tier council areas they were much mistaken.

Before he was replaced this week as housing and local government secretary by Angela Rayner, Steve Reed stepped up to the dispatch box last Thursday to comprehensively rewrite England's local government map.
