An interim report on the sexual exploitation of children in gangs is to be published by the Children's Commission for England this autumn.
The report is expected to highlight the initial findings of a two-year inquiry by the commission, and give details of the scale, scope and extent of the problem throughout the country that must be tackled by Whitehall and local bodies. It will be followed by a second report that will focus on action needed to identify, protect and prevent the abuse of children.
