DERBY CITY COUNCIL Resettlement Consortium Project Manager Secondment Opportunity Salary: Successful candidates will be paid their existing salary in their current role Fixed-term contract – 12 months with potential for extension to up to 3 years Location: Derby Reference: C518/7/14 Derby City Youth Offending Service on behalf of the East Midlands Resettlement Consortium is looking to recruit a Resettlement Consortium Project Manager. This post is offered on a secondment basis only with the successful candidate retaining their substantial post within their respective organisation. You will engage with strategic and operational stakeholders across statutory, private, voluntary and commercial sector organisations to develop and implement a resettlement consortium in the East Midland consortium area. The role is twofold: • A proactive strategic broker function requiring you to enable effective resettlement services to be provided in a joined up and sustainable way by stakeholders • A more reactive or troubleshooting function in which you will identify alongside operational partners where blockages lie and escalate these to senior colleagues to jointly work through solutions and affect change. You will need to show that you can work strategically with a range of different partners and demonstrate a real commitment to making a difference and improving outcomes. You will be a refl ective, innovative and committed manager, with excellent interpersonal skills and with a thorough understanding of what works in effecting change with young people released from custody. You will understand the importance of partnership working and have a positive approach to diversity. Specifi cally, you will need: • Experience of community and/or custodial youth justice provision at strategic and operational levels • Experience of working within a strategic role with local authority partners • Experience of leading large scale change projects and a track record of successful delivery to tight deadlines • Experience of dealing credibly with senior people in infl uencing, collaborating and negotiating • Knowledge and experience of local service provision networks across the statutory and voluntary sectors • An understanding of the Government's wider Transforming Youth Custody initiative and how resettlement fi ts into this • Excellent organisational and planning skills • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
