Reshaping funding in Wales

Wales’ local government minister Siân Gwenllian has confirmed work is underway on a review of the funding formula, alongside plans to boost housing delivery and strengthen council involvement in policy reform. Paul Marinko reports.

Wales' new local government minister says work has already started on reviewing the country's local government funding formula.

With Plaid Cymru having formed the new government as the largest party in the Senedd following May's elections, Siân Gwenllian says: ‘It was [one of our] manifesto commitments to review the local government funding formula.
