Leisure facilities specialist, Parkwood Holdings, has announced that its order book has risen by 15% in the first six months of the year. The firm, which manages leisure centres for authorities including Kettering BC and Rushcliffe BC, said its order book currently stood at £248m, and trading was in line with expectations. ‘The group continues to perform well and prospects for the future are encouraging,' said executive chairman, Tony Hewitt. The order book also includes income from the private sector health and fitness business, which Parkwood entered last year. Its green services division, Glendale, also continues to improve and has performed well in the last eight months. Earlier this month, Parkwood Holdings bought Landscape Construction (Scotland), which will become part of Glendale. The sole owner of Landscape, Steve Deas, will stay with the company, which will form the base for the company's move into the Scottish market. ‘We are confident the strong business Mr Deas has grown will be a sound base to begin our first move into the Scottish market,' added Mr Hewitt.
