Councils are being offered the chance to ditch many of the 1,300 legal duties imposed by government legislation.
Decentralisation minister, Greg Clark, in a review of councils' statutory duties, is consulting on which of the 1,294 statutory duties imposed on councils by primary legislation can be scrapped.
