Former West Sussex CC chief executive, Paul Rigg, has become the interim finance chief at the Local Government Association. Mr Rigg, who retired from West Sussex in August 2004 after nine years at the top, is replacing Sarah Wood on an interim basis, after she left to ‘seek new challenges’. He has been appointed interim director of finance and performance while the search continues for a permanent replacement with the offer of a six-figure salary. Mr Rigg worked in local government for 40 years and since retirement has taken up a number of new roles, including support for the Innovation Forum of excellent councils.
