A 'risky approach'

Labour MP John Healey, has criticised health secretary Andrew Lansley's decision to block publication.

Labour MP John Healey, who first requested release of the NHS risk register in November 2010, has branded health secretary Andrew Lansley's decision to block publication as ‘a desperate act which will backfire badly'.

‘By keeping the risk register secret, ministers have missed the chance to reassure people they're on top of the risks,' Mr Healey said.
