Roads input 'vital'

The LGA has called for councils to be given a central role in making investment decisions for UK roads.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has called for councils to be given a central role in making investment decisions for UK roads, in response to a CBI report calling for more roads privatisation and toll roads.

Cllr Peter Box, chair of the LGA's economy and transport board, said: ‘It's vital that any new funding and delivery model for roads gives councils a central role in making decisions on investment.
