NHS leaders have warned that continuing to dip into healthcare coffers to fund social care is little more than ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul'.

In a report published on Monday, the NHS Confederation said while it had supported the short-term transfer of NHS funds to support social care services, it was a ‘short-sighted policy', which was not sustainable.
