Three London boroughs have lost their finance directors in rapid succession, The MJ has learned, leaving a gap in knowledge in the capital. Tracie Evans has departed from Kingston LBC after a reported fall-out with chief executive, Bruce McDonald. Barking and Dagenham LBC director of finance, Joe Chesterton, has also left his role. In a statement the council said: ‘We are currently reviewing our financial services in order to ensure we have the resources needed to deliver our ambitious programme. After five-and-a-half years, Mr Chesterton, the divisional director of finance has left Barking and Dagenham to pursue other interests.' Barnet LBC has also lost its finance director, Clive Medlam, in a management restructure. Chief executive, Nick Walkley, has announced the role of executive director will be scrapped, in favour of two deputy chief executives. Mr Medlam will be leaving the authority after 19 years. Julie Oldale will be acting as director of finance and section 151 officer until an interim replacement is found.
