A row has broken out after a LGA corporate peer challenge report criticised Northumberland CC opposition members for ‘attacking the council'.

It suggested elected members could ‘work together more constructively' and called for some members to improve  behaviour.
Conservative councillor David Bawn said the recommendation implied opposition councillors should temper their critiques, which he argued was ‘misconceived, misguided and quite terrifying'.
