St Helens MBC is hopeful that hard-pressed local retailers will benefit from the arrival of ‘superstar neighbours', after the town's famous rugby league side relocated to a stadium in the commercial heart of the area.

St Helens RLFC's Langtree Park stadium will attract thousands of visitors for top-level matches, and the Merseyside-based authority believes that businesses will benefit following a current three-month campaign, dubbed ‘Local heroes', to push passing trade their way.
