Cheltenham BC is set to bail out its local football club to the tune of £100,000. The council is offering the money after fears that Cheltenham Town Football Club could go into administration. The loan, to be paid back over 10 years, is awaiting approval by the full council. Council chief executive Andrew North said: ‘It would be a safe use of the borough council's money. ‘This club makes a massive contribution to the town in terms of community engagement and spirit and economic benefit.'
