Westminster City Council has been able to extend its council tax freeze only by recourse to £6.3m government funding, and not efficiency savings, Cllr Paul Dimoldenberg, leader of the opposition Labour group, has claimed.

Cllr Dimoldenberg also argued the council's acceptance of the Government's £1.24m cash offer to help ‘freeze' council tax could generate a £3.9m funding gap within three years.
