Schools could soon be owned and run by parents and the local community under a Tory vision for the future. Tory leader, David Cameron, has unveiled plans for a series of co-operative schools, wresting control from local authorities. He said: ‘I want to explore how we can create a new generation of co-operative schools in Britain – funded by the taxpayer, but owned by parents and the local community.'
