The Scottish Parliament's health committee have been scrutinising the delivery of free personal care for the elderly. Deputy health minister Lewis Macdonald gave evidence and Paolo Vestri, director of Hexagon Research and Consulting, presented the key findings of his recent report to the committee on Tuesday. Committee deputy convenor, Janis Hughes, said: ‘The health committee's care inquiry found that the policy of free personal care for the elderly had been a suceess, but there were some major problems with implementation.'
