Scotland's public service unions have suspended strike action following an improved pay offer. The move is likely to put pressure on employers and union colleagues south of the border to reach a similar agreement. Unison Scotland's regional officer and leader of the negotiators, Dougie Black, said: ‘After two strikes and previous fruitless negotiations, I'm pleased we now have a new offer.' Unison's leadership in England called for ACAS to begin pay negotiations as soon as possible.
