Croydon LBC's councillors have ‘called in' a local cabinet decision on which company should run waste disposal services in the borough, after the preferred bidder choice was made during a secret session.
Croydon's decision last week would have brought the council into line with the other three members of the South London Waste Partnership – Sutton LBC, Merton LBC and Kingston-upon-Thames RLBC. Labour leader, Tony Newman, said he believed ‘the consultation, up until now, has been little more than a farce'.
