Sector 'will shrink' say bankers

UK business leaders believe the next decade will see the economy become less reliant on the public sector but are sceptical of politicians’ ability to reduce tax, red tape and the deficit according to research by Barclays Corporate.

UK business leaders believe the next decade will see the economy become less reliant on the public sector but are sceptical of politicians' ability to reduce tax, red tape and the deficit according to research by Barclays Corporate.

The findings show of the 660 business leaders polled, 64% expect more red tape and 61% higher taxes by 2021.
