Figures reveal online local government services account for a large number of interactions between the public sector and citizens.

Online local government services accounted for the largest number of digital interactions between the public sector and citizens last year, figures released by the Cabinet Office have revealed.

According to the first release of such data, local authorities accounted for 571 million interactions in 2011/12. By comparison, the next highest use for online government services was reporting for stamp duty – with 350 million electronic filings.
