Darlington and Hartlepool councils are considering moves to establish a joint director of human resources, in a £100,000 cost-cutting move shared equally between each authority.
If approved, Hartlepool Council's chief customer and workforce services officer, Joanne Machers, who has 28 years' local government experience, will be appointed to the newly-created post.
