Location: CARLISLE usually based at the Courts.

Cumbria is looking for two dynamic people who will lead and inspire the Accountancy and the Internal Audit (Shared Services) within Finance.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director (Finance) who is the Council's Statutory Chief Finance Officer, you will play a central role in helping the Finance Team to respond to a rapidly changing environment in local government.

Your accountancy/audit qualifications will be supported by a practical understanding of public sector accounting/audit best practice. You will be a natural leader, politically aware and be capable of building relationships and driving forward change at every level both within and outside the council.

Appointment to this post is subject to Vetting Checks.
