Serco has agreed to pay £75,000 to cover costs incurred by Derbyshire Dales DC in tackling a series of problems related to its new waste and recycling service. After a series of negotiations, Serco has agreed to pay the figure to cover additional costs, including new containers and extra resources.

‘The new service itself was always a good decision by the district council and is now coming into its own in terms of value for money and household recycling rates,' said environment committee chairman, Cllr Steve Bull.
