Ealing LBC has signed a £30m partnership over 10 years with Serco to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services to residents through Service Ealing. The council chose Serco because it offered a contract which delivered ‘excellent value' and showed how it could make the council's ICT service more flexible through ‘standardisation and centralised management'. At the heart of Service Ealing is a high-performing ICT service, built around strong delivery and performance management. Anthony Kemp, director of ICT and facilities at Ealing, said: ‘We had absolute confidence that Serco was a good strategic fit for Ealing. In addition, Serco's wide experience in the public sector services industry will give us a partner which we believe can add real value in our thinking for the future.' An incentive element of the partnership arrangement encourages Serco to invest by offering the opportunity of additional reward. ‘The Service Ealing partnership is focused on outcomes and delivering best value, and we are looking forward to realising the benefits in partnership with the council,' said chief executive of Serco's Solutions division, Kevin Lavery.
