The award winning Fire Service College – one of the world's largest operational fire and rescue training colleges – will be sold to a private company under plans announced by ministers.
A number of conditions will be attached to the sale, including commitments to preserve the college as a national training centre for the fire and rescue service, and maintain its wider national resilience and emergency services training.
