Birmingham City Council's controversial partnership with Capita has announced it has achieved one of its original objectives and created more than 700 jobs.

When Service Birmingham was launched in 2006, the joint venture pledged to create 720 new jobs in the city by 2013 and the company confirmed on 31 January it has now met and exceeded that target.
