WORKFORCE

Service Director of Children's Social Care, Community Health and Family Services

We know this is a difficult job. We know that it can be an incredibly rewarding one. And we know that it can’t be done in isolation.

We know this is a difficult job. We know that it can be an incredibly rewarding one. And we know that it can’t be done in isolation. To be successful you need to work in the right environment and we think that Swindon has all the right ingredients for success.

For starters you will be reporting directly to our Board Director (joint DCS/
DASS) and will be building on the exceedingly strong foundations that have
been put in place over a number of years. The relationships we enjoy with
our partners are first class. We have created well embedded, integrated
teams and virtually all of our staff are co-located. We have been the provider
of community health services for the last five years and have a clear and
achievable vision for a truly integrated service.

We are helped by Swindon’s size. Large enough to provide every conceivable
professional challenge, but small enough so that our teams can see the
tangible difference we are making across the borough. We are also helped
by Swindon’s ambition that is evident across the town’s public, private and
voluntary sectors.

We are looking for a leader who has real strength in managing children’s
social care, but who can lead a broader service that encompasses many
elements of health and education too. Someone who is successfully leading
teams through transformational change, is truly committed to integrated
working and who can build on our considerable success to date.
