As Service Director, Public Realm, you will help make our vision a reality by leading the Council's commissioning, procurement and contract management for waste, highways, regulatory services, landscaping and fleet. Building on existing high levels of public satisfaction, you will ensure our communities and neighbourhoods enjoy high quality and efficient services. As a member of the Council's Senior Leadership Team, you will also take a wider responsibility to support, advise and quality assure the Council's contracting functions. There isalso scope for the role to lead on contracting for the Council's building and key capital projects. Ultimately, your services will be the public face of service provision both in the city and across the rural parts of our Borough. We are seeking an outstanding leader, with strong strategic qualities and a demonstrable track record of commissioning, procuring and delivering both services and capital programmes. You will be able to evidence a good understanding of public realm issues, although your ability to lead staff, partners and suppliers to positions of customer service excellence is more important than a particular technical background.
