Service Director – Strategic Property

Leading the new Strategic Property function, you will assume responsibility for all land and property assets in council ownership with the aim of optimising asset value and commercial opportunities. Able to work effectively with developers and key influencers, you will have a good understanding of the commercial world and the ability to successfully manage major change.

Service Director – Legal Services

Heading up the Council's legal services, you will ensure the provision of proactive and constructive advice and support to members and officers and a newly elected Mayor. As well as acting as Statutory Monitoring Officer, you will be a persuasive champion of a can-do approach and you will be able to demonstrate strong management skills with the ability to drive cultural change.

Service Director - Human Resources

You will lead the delivery and transformation of HRM processes/ services, operating a business partner model in the provision of proactive and customer focussed solutions. You will also be a highly accomplished leader with the ability to inspire others and drive culture change.

Director of Public Health

With public health returning to local authority control from 2013, you will have a crucial role to play in enhancing the health of a diverse, dynamic population. As well as leading a dedicated team and managing transitional arrangements, you will develop a clear, targeted long term strategy and actively promote and support partnership working. A registered public health specialist, you will be a transformational leader with a full understanding of the link between economic success and good health.

Commercial Director – Energy

Backed by a multi-million pound grant from the European Investment Bank, you will provide leadership for the development of an arms-length energy services company and take responsibility for its strategy, development and financial support. Your role will include line managing staff, income generation and working with local businesses and you will have a proven track record in commercial management and contract implementation.
