Gloucestershire's fire and rescue service gives residents better value for money than any comparable fire authority in the UK, according to new figures from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).

The service costs residents a total of just 65p a week each. Chief fire officer, Jon Hall, said: ‘While delighted with this national acknowledgement, my job is to maintain focus on improving even further, both in terms of value for money and performance.'
