Sevenoaks DC has joined the race to become the first local authority in the country to become financially self-sufficient.
The council has acknowledged that the £1.5m a year government support grant forms an ‘important part' of its overall budget and admitted that the target of no longer relying on it from next April was ‘ambitious'.
