Housing minister, Grant Shapps, has performed a U-turn on the housing market renewal (HMR) programme, announcing plans to put £30m into the scheme.
The move, which has been described as a ‘lifeline' by the DCLG, reverses a previous decision to axe funding for the multibillion-pound programme.
