A new report has highlighted £600m of savings that could be ploughed back into NHS frontline services by streamlining back office functions. The report – QIPP National Workstream: Back Office Efficiency and Management Optimisation – was commissioned by the Department of Health and published by the Foundation Trust Network.

It concluded health organisations could make significant savings by sharing services like human resources, estates management and payroll functions.
