The Government has been called on to ‘show councils the money', after social care minister, Ivan Lewis, announced plans to review eligibility rules. His announcement followed publication of the State of social care in England by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (The MJ, 31 January 2008). ‘We welcome the Government's announcement that it will review long-term funding for care, but ministers need to show us the money now, said Cllr David Ashton, deputy leader of Harrow LBC.
