'Single-status' brings staff pay rise

More than 5,000 council workers to receive pay rises from Wolverhampton City Council under new pay structure known as 'single status' agreement.

More than 5,000 council workers will receive pay rises from Wolverhampton City Council when it introduces a new pay structure under its ‘single status' agreement.

Under the new agreement – which aims to end the historic divide between pay rates for men and women undertaking similar work – 1,242 staff members will also see their pay cut.
