Slough Council's chief executive is upping sticks and moving west to take up the same post at Havering LBC. Cheryl Coppell will join the council in spring and work closely with the current chief executive, Stephen Evans, who is set to retire at the end of March after four years in charge. ‘I am looking forward to coming to work in Havering and the fresh challenges that this will bring,' she said. ‘Havering's services are continuously improving, and I am looking forward to joining with staff and councillors and working hard to deliver services which will improve quality of life for all residents in the borough.'
