Slough speeds into the thriving zone

There was initial consternation when our newly-elected government quickly declared planning needed reform to encourage growth. Had we in local government not argued that the high number of outstanding unbuilt permissions meant planning was in the clear?

Moreover, wasn't our land use planning system one of the parts of the post-war settlement, ensuring community benefit could be balanced against private interests?
