Slough Council has been handed £933,000 business growth funding, after winning a High Court battle with Whitehall. The council believed it had been denied business growth money after encouraging new businesses to locate in the town in 2005. The Government failed to hand a percentage of the extra business rates collected back to the council. Mr Justice Newman described the Government's case as ‘hopeless', and described its arguments as ‘not factually founded and legally ineffective.'
