A tiny district council has won a massive legal battle over an anti social behaviour order. West Lancashire DC fought an appeal by 21-year-old Ashley Langley who has committed a series of violent offences despite being subject of the order since 2004. Despite limited resources, the council fought the appeal which was finally dismissed by the Divisional Court in London. Cllr Paul Greenall, portfolio holder for community safety, said: ‘We fought hard to safeguard the public. This will be used as a good example by local authorities, housing associations and police forces across the country.'
