Small businesses in Scotland are frustrated by the nation's policy-makers, according to a new survey. The Forum of Private Business (FPB) asked 35 small firms across Scotland for their views in the run-up to the May elections. And an overwhelming 92% said they thought smaller businesses had not benefited from the micro-management of the Scottish economy from Edinburgh. One hundred per cent said the Scottish Labour Party did not look after their interests. And 69% thought centralising Scottish Enterprise's investment and support services budget to Edinburgh and Glasgow would be at the expense of smaller businesses elsewhere. The FPB's Scottish spokesman Jim Gorie said: ‘All parties are offering support, ranging from lower business rates, urban regeneration and the cutting of red tape. What we are lacking are new ideas.'
