Well the phoney war regarding the impact of government cuts is at an end and nowhere is this more apparent than with housing.
A report by London Councils indicates that more than 82,000 households could lose their homes because of proposed changes to benefit rules. London has not seen such a shift of population since the move to the New Towns in the 1950s and 1960's. That was planned and co-ordinated but this shift will be the complete opposite with homeless families coping with trying to find a new home, keeping their jobs and looking after their families largely on their own.
