Social service and education chiefs have voted to set up new associations, following the growth of children’s service departments. In a ballot of members of the Confederation of Children’s Services Managers (Confed) and the Association of Directors of Social Services, an overwhelming majority voted for new bodies to represent them. These will be an Association of Directors of Children’s Services and an Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, plus an ADSS Cymru for Wales. Discussions about the creation of the new bodies are ongoing.
